My partner and I were celebrating our birthdays in the city and had stayed at Ink 48 a few times over the past several years. We had a slight hiccup with our first room but the staff was so incredible and accommodating and took care of us immediately. David at the front desk was such a wonderful person, he helped us with our first issue but also went out of his way each day to say hello and to make sure our stay was comfortable. He is a gem! The staff overall were very friendly and helpful. To note, the hotel itself is under new ownership and it is different from before. The restaurant and rooftop are closed and it is no longer a kimpton property. The breakfast available to purchase on site is good, but everything is a touch more expensive than expected, I imagine because it is so removed. The coffee was a surprise as they do not provide in room and you have to pay and get from the lobby. Overall, the hotel is a 3.5 star experience, having seen some better days, but the staff make it 5.Posted on Damere Brodhead GirardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This place is not worth the money. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights and were very unimpressed by the way this hotel is ran. First and foremost I booked the rooftop suite with the terrace and was downgraded with out my knowledge due to an overbooking, nothing was said to me upon arrival and I noticed it myself while checking into the room. After I quickly realized it wasn’t the room I payed for we went back down to the front desk where I was then informed of the downgrade. We asked for compensation and was told by a gentleman at the front desk he would be working on it with Expedia since I booked through them. The next day we asked a different guy at the desk about the status of our refund and he said they can’t do anything and we have to contact Expedia ourselves. So I did, and the manager of the hotel denied my request for a refund after weeks of going back and forth with these people I’ve still yet to get compensation for their screw up. Even better, after I was told I had to contact Expedia my self I spoke to the guy who originally said he’d get in contact with Expedia and he insisted he was working on it, even took down my email before I left and I haven’t heard a peep from this place. Absolutely ridiculous, their front desk staff is a joke. I had to make several requests for room service before my requests were fulfilled. Overall just a terrible experience here and unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. And I will be getting my money back someway somehow.Posted on Rui R. My work made reservations for me since I had an event, and this was the closest hotel to it (I had looked at the reviews on Google and was pleasantly surprised and almost excited to stay here from reading the them). After working a whole day, I took the train into the city, and I ended up getting to INK 48 hotel at almost 9:30 PM. I was greeted with the news that the AC in my room wasn’t working, but I didn’t need to worry because they wouldn’t charge me a cancellation fee. Seriously?! They were also announcing to a bunch of people in the lobby that the Wi-Fi was down. I quickly looked online and there didn’t seem to be many hotels with availability nearby because it’s peak season! Three more people arrived after me and they were told the same thing. “Why didn’t you contact me to let me know the AC in my room wasn’t working and that it’s 90 degrees? Someone asked, but the staff acted as if this was something they’d never thought of. I understand mistakes and overbooking to a certain extent, but if they did this to 4 people in the small window of time I was there for, they probably did it to many others too. Thanks for making me scramble, stress and pay way more than I would have at 10 PM during peak season in the city, INK 48! 😡 I will certainly avoid this hotel in the future.
